Terms of Service

Last updated: June 2026 · Draft

Placeholder draft. This is scaffold content pending review by qualified legal counsel. It is not yet a binding agreement and should be replaced before launch.

1. Agreement to terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of UofAi (the "Service"), operated by UofAi ("we", "us"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. The Service

UofAi provides applied AI-skills learning: lessons, hands-on labs, an AI coach that gives bounded feedback, and tools to build a portfolio of work artifacts. We may update, add, or remove features over time.

3. Accounts and eligibility

You must provide an accurate email address and are responsible for activity under your account. You must be at least 16 years old (or the age of digital consent in your jurisdiction) to use the Service.

4. Subscriptions, billing, and refunds

Paid plans ("Pro") are billed through our payment processor, Stripe. By subscribing you authorize recurring charges until you cancel. You may cancel at any time; access continues through the end of the current billing period. [Refund and cancellation specifics to be confirmed with counsel.]

5. Your content and portfolio artifacts

You retain ownership of the work artifacts and reflections you submit ("Your Content"). You grant us a limited license to store, process, and display Your Content back to you (and, where you opt in, to share it) for the purpose of operating the Service. You are responsible for not submitting confidential, unlawful, or third-party-owned material you lack the rights to share.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to misuse the Service — including attempting to break access controls, scraping at scale, reselling access, or using the AI coach to generate unlawful, harmful, or infringing content.

7. AI coach disclaimer

The AI coach provides automated, best-effort guidance and may be inaccurate or incomplete. It is not professional, legal, financial, or career advice. You are responsible for verifying and validating AI-assisted output before relying on it.

8. Intellectual property

The Service, including its lessons, lab designs, rubrics, software, and branding, is owned by UofAi and protected by intellectual-property laws. These Terms do not grant you any right to our content except to use the Service as intended.

9. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, UofAi is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for outcomes you do or do not achieve from using the Service. [Liability caps and exclusions to be finalized with counsel.]

10. Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate access for breach of these Terms or to comply with law.

11. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. Material changes will be communicated through the Service or by email, and continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.

12. Governing law and contact

[Governing law and dispute-resolution venue to be specified with counsel.] Questions about these Terms: hello@uofai.com.
